Parks and Green Belt in Matraman Remain Well-maintained Amid Covid-19

By doing so, the condition of the park and green belt is maintained, green and beautiful

Parks and green belt maintenance is still maximally carried out amid the 2019 Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

In Matraman Sub-district, East Jakarta for instance, every day, as many as 44 PJLPs of Forestry Executing Unit are routinely conducting maintenance of parks and green belt.

According to Andriansyah, Head of Matraman Sub-district, it is carried out by cleaning trash, grass, watering and planting new plant seeds along Jalan Ahmad Yani, Jalan Pengayoman, Jalan Pramuka and Jalan Utan Kayu.

"By doing so, the condition of the parks and green belt is maintained, green and beautiful," he expressed, Thursday (6/11).

He explained, the area of plants and green belt varies, likewise with types of plants ranging from ornamental plants, shade trees and productive trees to vegetables.

Bronbeek Park in RW 10, Utan Kayu Urban Village is the most extensive park or reaching 1,600 square meters. The plants have various types, ranging from gambier jasmine, elephant ears, green cumin, daffodils, ginseng, cypress water and red hanjuang.

There are also vegetables like, spinach, suji, green and red kanna. Whereas for protective trees, there are mahogany, ketapang kencana, banyan, glodokan, red shoots, frangipani, tamarind Javanese, tabebuya and cypress.
